Altus Spay/Neuter Clinic Manager :  Full Time Position

Altus Animal Welfare Association (AAWA) is looking for a professional with a passion for working with people and animals to join our team! 

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience providing and managing direct services to diverse audiences

  • Commitment to treat animals and people with respect and kindness

  • Ability to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences

 

The ideal candidate will have office management experience,

animal handling experience,

and basic knowledge of animal health and behaviors

 

 

*Salary dependent on experience level with opportunity for advancement quickly*

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Manages staff and volunteers to ensure clinic functions safely, effectively and within the   

       parameters of the law and organizational policies

  • Has the ability to hire/fire clinic staff and handles disciplinary measures

  • Oversees clinic schedule for staff and volunteers

  • Holds staff and volunteers accountable for performance, leadership and policies 

  • Practices leadership daily by protecting the organization in all activities and holding yourself and team members accountable for AAWA standard of care and customer service

  • Contributes to employee morale and engagement by creating a positive work environment

  • Supports self by appropriately delegating duties

  • Completes and stores clinic forms for employee and volunteer hours

  • Contributes to employee development and engagement

  • Oversees team evaluations and works with AAWA Executive Board on advancements

 

  • Manages daily operations of clinic 

    • Oversees scheduling of animals to ensure appropriate number of pets each day and fair distribution of dog vs cat; female vs male

    • Understands intake/outtake protocols for all pets

    • Oversees all cleaning/prepping of the facility and equipment needed for services

    • Knowledgeable about ALL services offered at the clinic.  Speaks intelligently about services, helps pet owners make choices based on what is best for their pet

    • Mitigates client relation problems, post op concerns, and personnel issues

    • Oversees inventory ordering of office and cleaning supplies

    • Oversees inventory ordering and control of medical supplies

      • Maintains relationships with vendors

      • Manages rebates and discount opportunities

      • Make copies of controlled substance invoices and ensure drugs are appropriately locked

    • Coordinates repairs and maintenance of equipment within the clinic

    • Accurately, efficiently and thoroughly uses Clinic HQ (clinic software) 

    • Oversees organizational programs that involve clinic services, including data tracking and reporting

    • Oversees financial arrangements for clients when needed

 

  • Communicates staff and clinic needs with AAWA Executive Board 

  • Understands AAWA’s commitment to and practice of excellent customer service

  • Understands that as an AAWA team member, you are always representing AAWA

    • Make choices that reflect our values when dealing with pets and their people inside and outside the clinic (this includes social media)

    • Reflects AAWA’s mission and values inside and outside the clinic: spay/neuter of personal pets
