Our Story

Altus Animal Welfare Association is a non-profit organization established in 2016 by a group of Altus, Oklahoma citizens who saw much-needed reform to animal welfare in Altus.  Since that date our primary focus has been 'access to care' programs for pet parents throughout SW OK so that pets don't end up at our local shelters or abandoned.

MISSION

To advocate for animals at the Altus Municipal Shelter as well as animals within Southwest Oklahoma and to provide access to low-cost preventive

care and spay/neuter services in a kind and compassionate

environment to all Southwest Oklahoma pet owners.

VISION

A culture of compassion for animals and access to care for ALL pet owners throughout Southwest Oklahoma.
