Our Story

Altus Animal Welfare Association (AAWA) is a non-profit organization established in 2016 by a group of Altus, Oklahoma citizens who identified a need for improved access to care and took action!

Each year, over 1000 animals receive low-cost spay/neuter surgeries as well as wellness vaccines and other preventative care through our clinics. With the generous help of OK Humane, local volunteers and donors, and community pet owners, we work to keep Altus a safe place for pets and people alike!

MISSION STATEMENT:

To reduce pet overpopulation and improve animal welfare across Southwest Oklahoma by delivering accessible, low-cost spay/neuter services, wellness care, and vaccines with compassion.
