AASNIP: Altus Area Spay Neuter Incentive Program

AASNIP takes place on the Final Monday of each Month.  Animals are transported to OK Humane in Oklahoma City for their spay/neuter procedures.  Rabies vaccines are provided to each animal (unless owner provides updated vaccine records) as part of their spay-neuter cost.  Additional basic vaccines (DHPP for dogs, FVRCP for cats) are offered for an additional $15 per animal.

Guidelines

  • Paperwork and crate claim happens at our Altus clinic starting at 4pm the Sunday before AASNIP.

  • No food or water after 11:59pm on Sunday night!

  • Please allow your pet to use the bathroom prior to drop-off.

  • Arrive at our Altus location NO LATER THAN 6:30am
The “Neuter Scooter” leaves at 7:00am SHARP!

  • BYOC - Bring Your Own Crate to transport your pet if you are able!  The less transfers from our crates to yours, the better for your pet!  If you need to borrow a crate, no problem!  Please let us know when you schedule your appointment.

  • Pick up: The “Neuter Scooter” typically arrives back in Altus between 5:30 and 6:00pm on the same day.  When you arrive, you will be asked to take a number - keep an ear out for when it is your turn to greet your pet!  This is when you will pay for services
(Cash only please!) and receive post-op instructions.

Please Note...

  • We currently accept cash only.

  • Animals are not sent home with pain medication as they are given an injection of pain meds before leaving OK Humane.

  • You may receive $15 off Spay/neuter service if you provide documentation of an updated Rabies vaccine for your pet. Otherwise, Rabies vaccines are required for all animals receiving surgery at OK Humane.

  • If your female pet is pregnant, she will still be spayed.

  • AAWA is a non-profit organization.  We work hard to keep prices as low as possible through grants, donations, and volunteers, but still have to account for overhead costs.
