Altus Spay and Neuter Clinic

Christmas came early for AAWA and the animals at the shelter, as the construction for the new Altus Spay and Neuter Clinic has finally started this past week.

Through the generosity of WaterShed Animal Fund, the animals at the Altus Animal Shelter can get spayed/neutered before they get adopted. AAWA hopes that taking the burden off the new pet parents will encourage more people to adopt rather than buy.

Once the clinic is complete with the necessary equipment, the facility will open for spay/neuter of feral cats in the local community.

AAWA hopes this will be the beginning of the end for the overpopulation of strays in our community and ultimately lower the number of animals that end up at the shelter.
