AAWA's Pets For Life Program began in May 2019 as an outreach to underserved neighborhoods in Altus  to offer free pet care resources, services and information. Since that date, 739 pets have been spayed/neutered and a total of 9,400 medications, services or supplies have been provided to Altus pets! 

AAWA remains committed to working on the front end of pet overpopulation through spay and neuter services - providing assistance to pet parents with limited or nonexistent access to pet wellness resources, through door-to-door outreach, helps us further that mission.

Through consistent access to spay/neuter, basic pet wellness care, supplies and information for their pets, residents are better equipped as pet parents. This will keep pets happy and healthy with the families they already have and reduce the amount of homeless pets in the area.

Through Pets For Life, more human lives are enriched by the joy and love that a pet can bring.
